• append(value)
• Adds an element at the end of the list.

lst=[10,20,50,30]
lst.append(40)
print(lst) >>> [10, 20, 50, 30, 40]

• clear()
• Removes all the elements from the list.

lst=[10,20,50,30]
lst.clear()
print(lst) >>> []

• copy()
• Returns a copy of the list.

lst1=[10,20,50,30]
lst2=lst.copy()
print(lst2) >>> [10,20,50,30]

• count(value)
• Returns the number of elements with the specified value.

lst=[ 10,20,50,30,50,10,50]
print(lst.count(50)) >>> 3

• extend(collection)
• Add the elements of a list (or any iterable), to the end of the current list.

lst1 = ['ram', 'shyam', 'gopal']
lst2 = ['seeta', 'geeta']
lst1.extend(lst2)
print(lst1) >>>['ram','shyam','gopal','seeta','geeta']

• index(value)
• Returns the index of the first element with the specified value. If not found an ValueError Exception will be thrown.

lst1 = ['ram', 'shyam', 'gopal']
print(lst1.index('gopal')) >>> 2

• insert(pos,value)
• Adds an element at the specified position.

fruits = ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry']
fruits.insert(1, "orange")
print(fruits) >>> ['apple','orange', 'banana', 'cherry']

• pop(pos)
• Removes the element at the specified position.

fruits = ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry']
fruits.pop(1)
print(fruits) >>> ['apple', 'cherry']

• remove(value)
• Removes the first item with the specified value.

fruits = ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry']
fruits.remove('banana')
print(fruits) >>> ['apple', 'cherry']

• reverse()
• Reverses the order of the list.

fruits = ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry']
fruits.reverse( )
print(fruits) >>> ['cherry', 'banana', 'apple' ]

• sort([resverse=False],[key=None])
• Sorts the list.
• Where
  • reverse=True : indicates to sort in reverse order
  • key : indicates a function whose result will be use for sorting.

fruits = [ 'banana', 'cherry', 'apple']
fruits.sort()
print(fruits) >>> ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry']
